Where do I change my home address and/or campus/business address?

Rutgers Faculty, Staff or Student Worker: HR Employee Self-service for home address, home phone number and/or business phone number. To update your business address contact your department payroll/HR staff.

Where do I add a directory listing name for myself?

Please go to Directory Listing Name Tab in the Personal Info application to update.

Where do I add a Chosen Name for myself?

Please go to Chosen Name Tab in the Personal Info application to update.

What is the difference between Directory listing name and Chosen/Preferred Name?

Directory Listing name is mainly displayed along with your legal name in people search http://search.rutgers.edu/. For example, if your legal first name is Robert, but you save a directory listing name as Bob, then your directory listing will show both your legal name Robert Smith and your directory listing name (Bob Smith) on the search result. However, your Chosen/Preferred name will display in most places where your legal name would otherwise be shown. For example , if your legal first name is Robert, but you set a Chosen Name as Bob, then your directory listing in people search and other systems such as myRutgers, Canvas, etc will show Bob Smith . Your original first legal name Robert will not be displayed.

If I set a Chosen Name , will it my First Legal Name be replaced on all applications?

Most applications will only display your Chosen Name if you set one. Only when required , certain applications will continue to display your Legal First Name.
